What is Prayer?
Prayer is the highest privilege we have as Christians. It is the richest, sweetest and noblest gift God gives his children. Prayer is worship toward God and warfare toward the enemy. Prayer is the most effective thing we can do for our people. When our friends experience crisis or tragedies, our inclination is "to do something." If someone needs healing, financial help, or our special care, we try to solve his or her problem. But what we ought to do is pray. What people need is not what we can do, but what God can do. After we pray, then we can do our best to minister and witness under the leadership and power of the Holy Spirit. Obviously, prayer is the key element in pastoral care ministries.
