"To reach all people with the Good News
that Jesus Christ died for our sins
to give us eternal life."

Nursing Home Worship Service

Every second Sunday of the month, volunteers from Epworth gather at the local nursing home to lead the residents in hymns and a time of devotion. Volunteers arrive at 2:15 pm to get organized, gather attendees into the dining hall, and hand out hymnals or song sheets. The worship time begins at 2:30 pm.

Sometimes we're blessed with a live pianist to accompany the hymn singing. Otherwise a CD of the piano part is used. Typically someone will either read from the Bible or offer a short devotional, or both. Also a time of prayer is shared by all.

The residents usually get a tremendous blessing out of this event. They love to sing the old hymns of the faith. They greatly enjoy interacting with any children that might come. Gathering in the name of Christ lifts their spirits and puts smiles on their faces. Simple hugs and friendly conversations are also greatly appreciated!

For the last few years, the Sunday school classes have taken turns in leading the 2nd Sunday visits. Currently there are a few gaps in the rotating schedule which means that additional volunteers and/or leaders are needed in this area. For more information, please contact Keith Badowski by or phone.
